Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) in collaboration with Mustehkam Parlimaan (MuP) organized a thematic workshop on Assisting Members in Non-Legislative Business for the Officers of the National Assembly Secretariat from 30^th May – 1^st June, 2023. A total number of twenty five officers from the Secretariat attended the thematic workshop. The purpose of this workshop was to enhance the understanding of officers in carrying out their duties effectively while assisting members of the Parliament in non-legislative business and Committees. The Program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcome remarks by Director Parliamentary Development Program (PDP) Mr. Waqas Ahmed Qureshi who highlighted salient features of the three day workshop.  Worthy Executive Director PIPS, Mr. Muhammad Anwar, in his welcome remarks, greeted the officers and apprised them on the significance of the programme.  Primarily the thematic training comprised tools in assisting members including Question, Adjournment Motion, Calling Attention Notice, Privilege and Resolutions discussed at length by the Worthy Executive Director PIPS, Mr. Muhammad Anwar. Committees as a tool of Parliamentary Oversight as well as Public Accounts Committee and its working were also explained in the training by eminent parliamentary experts, highlighting relevant details during their sessions.
